About "Xplore Costa Rica"

Welcome to Xplore Costa Rica; A unique, Costa Rican travel experience!

Xplore Costa Rica came to be in April of 2009. Denise Shantz & Paul Bobadilla, as your hosts have been long time locals of the area and very well travelled throughout Costa Rica and beyond. Denise is a Canadian transplant from Southern Ontario, Canada who started traveling to Costa Rica in 1989 (and just kept coming back) and has lived here full time since 2001. Paul is originally from Nicaragua and has been in Costa Rica for the past 23 years.

Also a member of the team is Gustavo Fonseca, a native Costa Rican that is our #1 man on the tour circuit. Gustavo speaks  English fluently after spending a number of years living in the USA. We’re proud to have Gustavo on the team with his excellent ‘go the extra mile’ style of client service.


Our most recent addition is Shawn Maricle, originally from Tuscon, Arizona and a resident of Costa Rica since 2004. Shawn brings to the team that good ole’ American kind of client service that our customers demand as well as a desire to share with you all the great things he’s come to enjoy about his new home, Costa Rica.

As locals of the area we love showing travelers the best of our incredible country and we'd love to share it with you. Our tours are flexible, great fun, outstanding value and cover all areas of Guanacaste.
